The save took place around 12:24 p.m. Wednesday when officers Devin Ludwig and Mark Liebermann responded to the area of Andrews Place, a public highway located in the Village of Wappingers Falls for a report of a male down, said Lt P. Capparelli.

The two officers arrived on scene and found a 41-year-old man unresponsive with labored breathing lying on his back on the ground, Capparelli said.

It was immediately determined the man was experiencing an overdose of narcotics and the two quickly administered Narcan through the nose of the man, but nothing happened.

A second dose was administered and the man slowly regained regular breathing habits and color becoming conscious and alert, he said.

Paramedics arrived on scene and took over, transporting him via Mobile Life ambulance to Vassar Brothers Hospital for further care.
